Artist's Statement

As long as I can remember I have loved both art and nature. My first artistic endeavor involved a box of crayons; my subject -- the family cat. Today I work almost exclusively in pastel; my subject -- the landscape. Preferring to paint outdoors, I seek out scenes that evoke a sense of wonder, places that I would like to explore. In the process I hope to convey something of the subtleties and beauty of what I see and feel.
